Do you know someone in your area who could help to raise funds for Stickler Syndrome UK in a similar way to YoungStarz have done after hearing Theo’s story?
Theo was born with a full cleft of the hard and soft palate and became diagnosed with Stickler Syndrome at just over 1 year of age. There was no family history and no evidence on prenatal scans – a heartbreaking time for Mum, Jessica and family.
In what should be his enjoyable development years, he has endured many visits to specialists at Addenbrooke’s CUH, and so far 7 operations between 2 and 8 years of age.
It’s likely that Theo will be back for further operations but despite all of this, Theo is a brave and confident young boy who is dealing every day with pain and limitations. He gets support from his school where he now uses the wheelchair which was donated to him by our YoungStarz and the Coffee Shop here at Red Lodge Karting earlier this year.
Theo really is living proof of what an amazing NHS we really do have, but we need you to help us to ‘Join the dots’ to find more ‘Theos’ all over the UK who may not even have had their full diagnosis or that critical access to the specialist care and support they will need.
Thank you to Mick and Sharon who run YoungStarz and the Coffee Shop at Red Lodge Karting near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Here you can see the banner… Trickles is getting about a bit, isn’t he!
